Headmast1

One of the features,if not virtues, of fine art prints is the  limited number produced, which is called the  Edition.

This means that a limited series is made say 60 or 100, or 180 but no more. When you acquire a print you know it is one of only 60 or 100 or whatever the edition. Fine art prints are not mass produced.

As a result the edition can be slowly exhausted ie sold, and the remaining quantity obviously decreases. At this point their value increases because there are  fewer left or available, and as the value increases so we're  afraid  does the price (blame the capitalistic system if you will).
